Port Elizabeth is South Africa’s second oldest city and also the commercial capital of the Eastern Cape. It forms part of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, which also includes the towns of Uitenhage and Despatch. The locals call Port Elizabeth anything from ‘PE’, ‘The Friendly City’, ‘The Windy City’, ‘Die Baai’ to ‘Ibhayi’.
Some great character traits of Port Elizabeth are: great (moderate) weather all year round, beautiful beaches, strong economic growth, a major university and schools, the Boardwalk Casino, major hotels and guest houses, shopping centres, very little traffic congestion and much more to mention.
The Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment World in Port Elizabeth offers 5-star hotel accommodation only a few minutes away from the Blue Flag awarded Hobie Beach. The International Convention Centre at The Boardwalk has a number of flexible venue spaces, catering for conferences, exhibitions, concerts and even meetings.
